SUNDAY FUNDAY - APRIL 14, 2024

 SUNDAY FUNDAY - APRIL 14, 2024

ECLIPSE:

We made it through the Eclipse.  Did you get a chance to see it?

I enjoyed it.  I was at Wimberley with a friend - and yes, there were clouds.  But I saw it as the moon slid over in front of the sun.  And, as it reached totality, the clouds moved in and I didn’t see the end.

The next total solar eclipse with a coast-to-coast path spanning the Lower 48 states will occur on August 12, 2045.  (Hmmm - 21 years away, I’m not sure I’ll be around for that. )

I considered the eclipse kind of a “God-Thing”.  The God who made the university put moons in orbits around planets and planets in orbits around stars (in our case, it is “The Sun”); we are gathering into galaxies.  What an INFINITE GOD!!!

TAXES

Tomorrow is TAX DAY.  I did my taxes last week with AARP Tax Help (thanks, Henry)!!!  As the expression goes - “Nothing is sure except death and taxes.”

An old friend once told me that the only fair tax was one he didn’t pay.  Therefore, I am advocating for a $100 tax on cigarettes.  (That probably would make all smokers quit!!! - Or drive to Oklahoma to buy their cigarettes.)

Have you finished and submitted your Federal Income taxes?  They are due on April 15th.
