Wednesday before Christmas, 2020

 WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2020

Let’s look at a couple of scriptures.  (By-the-way, these are definitely taken out of context - generally so, but they do make more sense when viewed in the complete version).

Jeremiah 29:11

“ For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalms 37:4

Be happy in the Lord. And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Proverbs 13:23

Hope that is put off makes the heart sick, but a desire that comes into being is a tree of life.

Matthew 7:7

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

So, what plans does God have for you?  For me?  To give us a future and a hope?

This year, in particular, having a future and hope are priorities.  In a year where many have died from COVID-19; in a year where many lost jobs and income because of the pandemic, having a future and hope are pretty important!!

How do you see your future?  Happy, blessed, satisfied, and hopeful?  Or a future of doom and gloom?  It is hard to look into the future, but my viewpoint is that we approach the future with optimism, confidence, and a great attitude.  I CAN DO IT!!

In this shortlist, I have three encouragements

  • Be happy in the Lord and He (She / It) will give you the Desires of your Heart)

  • A desire that comes into being is a tree of life

  • Ask and you shall receive

In the last few days (and one more tomorrow), I’ve written about how I view God as infinite (his ways and not our ways).  Today’s writing mentioned God’s plans for us and then getting the desires of your heart.

What are the desires of your heart?  Do you have a passionate desire?  Again, while I’m using a Judeo-Christian perspective, it may apply to other worldviews.  Are you asking God for His/Her/Its Blessing?  Are you expecting good times?

So, we are two days from Christmas and nine days before the New Year, maybe you can reflect on where you are at - and where you are going.  (More on that next week as I write about New Year’s Resolutions).

God (at least in the selected verses) seems to have plans for us - to prosper; and that we need to love God and expect the desires of our hearts!!

See you tomorrow for one last pre-Christmas note!!

LOVE WINS!!!

HUGS!!!

Karen
