Politics is an interest of mine - and I’m guessing we all may be tired of politics by November 6 this year (Election Day is November 5). [And, I hope it will be clear who was elected President and the other positions by November 6!!!]

Last year in Texas, the Texas House of Representatives voted to impeach the state attorney general.  They had sixteen items against him.  

The Texas House (and Senate and Governor and Lieutenant Governor - and attorney general) has a majority of representatives from the same political party. In this case, the Texas House voted to impeach and went to the Texas Senate for the hearing and judgment.  

None of the sixteen items received in the Senate had enough votes to impeach the attorney general. 

It is done - not impeached.

Ah - not so fast.

So, the state attorney general is now going after the Speaker (leader) of the Texas House of Representatives. Although they are from the same political party, the attorney general wants the house speaker to be kept from getting reelected and has actively endorsed and funded candidates after the House Speaker in the primary election of March 5.

In other races in the 2024 primary, the former President of the United States has endorsed some candidates that didn’t sufficiently support him after the 2020 presidential election.  This is also happening in other states.  

A vindictive spirit has taken over politics already - eight-and-one-half months before the election.  

Those who read this blog know I am of a Judeo-Christian background.  Love your neighbor as yourself, turn the other cheek, and go a second mile.  

Vengeance (or vindictiveness) is not a concept that I like.  “Live and let live,” “Love your enemy.”  

It is hurtful talk to go after somebody because they didn’t support you (in an election or elsewhere).

Let’s “kiss and make up” - particularly when the groups involved represent the same political viewpoint.  

Don’t harbor a grudge.
