WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26, 2022 (minor) DILEMMAS
Life is so good. I’m getting comfortable in my Comfort Zone. (And, that scares me a little)
I have written a blog almost every day for at least ten years. I did a technology blog when I was teaching, a religious blog, this Karens2019.blogspot.com (and Informal Education with Dr. White on Facebook). I had a real URL http://drbrucewhite.com for a while. Some days I’m writing my blog post very late on the night before I publish it. [Aside, I schedule or publish this at 2:00 a.m.] Some days I am a week ahead (I prefer that).
The topics have come (generally) smoothly. I will admit that my blog two days ago on Frisbees seemed to be forced. Some posts have been (in my estimation) awesome, and some posts are less than awesome.

So, why am I writing? Two reasons - the main reason is for me. I need to write. I need to keep my brain busy. I need to do the research that goes into my posts. The second reason is for readers. I could write a daily ‘journal’ - mostly my take on issues of myself - but I don’t want to do that.
I started two blogs for today (Wednesday, January 26) two days ago and neither topic excited me. Both were topics I had covered in the past and even if you haven’t read them I didn’t want to reuse something. I want fresh views. (I’m not sure why ‘reruns’ would be bad - television does it all the time. NCIS has been on television for 19 years. I’m guessing the writers have reused some ideas in new locations, but largely the same plot.
For many years the same comics run on newspapers’ comic pages. I’m pretty sure that Charles Schultz used some of the same ideas in the Peanuts comics. (How many times did Lucy trick Charlie Brown into kicking the football).
I write on love and not hate. Can I write a blog on love every day? (Can a minister/preacher talk about the same topic every Sunday?)
So, how can I be fresh? What topics can I consider? Where is the world going that I have enough expertise and interest to write about? (Global warming? Politics? Love? Relationships?)

So, here I am, writing the last week of January 2022. And I’m running out of ideas.

I can take some of the ideas from “Today in History”, or “National Day” and write - will that be enough to satisfy me that I did a meaningful job?

DILEMMA #2
And, I have a second problem. TIME.
I’m having a very internal turmoil over this (imagine two boxers slugging it out in my brain).
I’m having TOO MUCH time on my hands. Yes, I’m retired. Yes, I work three evenings a week. Yes, I play in a symphony group (and I could practice more). Yes, I could walk more.
Last night after walking at the Georgetown Community Recreation Center, I had two hours that I “wasted”.
CONFESSION - I’ve been playing solitaire on my computer way too much. That’s a waste of my time.
THOUGHTS:
Write another novel (I’ve had a few that have been finished but not published)
Go back to crocheting
Do jigsaw puzzles
Draw / color / create
Just enjoy the free time I’m having (as it won’t last)
Realize that it's just the January/Gray Skies Blues
Visit friends more
And, if I really have “time to waste”, I could get a television (gasp)
AND … to finish today’s blog off
My weekly statistics from Grammarly:
Productivity: I was more productive than 97% of Grammarly users
Mastery: I was more accurate than 91% of Grammarly users
Vocabulary: I used more unique words than 99% of Grammarly users
(I’m pretty sure Dr. Nelson, my Freshman Composition professor is long dead now, but she would be amazed at this data. I had three “C” letter grades in college. Two in Freshman Composition I and II and one in a gymnastics gym class!!!)

Who knows what I will write about tomorrow. (I sure don’t!!!).
BUT, I will write tomorrow anyway!!
LOVE WINS!!!
