Forgiveness:

Remember this line:

And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. (Some groups have forgiven us our sins as we forgive those that sin against us - other translations have "debts")

Matthew 18:21-22

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. (some versions have 70 times 7)

Matthew 6:14-15

If you forgive others when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But your Father will not forgive your sins if you do not forgive others.

1 John 2:9-11

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the morning, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the evening. They do not know where they are going because the darkness has blinded them.

1 John 3:15

Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

Colossians 3:13

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

I talked with a friend last week. She has had a tough time with her family. And, she says, "I can't EVER forgive them for what they did to me."

Forgiving is tough. It is sometimes easier to forgive a stranger than somebody in your family.

Yes, this message is short. It could be just one word, "FORGIVE" (or three words, FORGIVE, FORGIVE, FORGIVE)
