I’m reaching the SCREAMING STAGE for the summer heat.  Don’t be alarmed, it usually happens this time of year - scorching hot, dry, and it finally gets to me!!  (So, if you hear an ear-piercing scream in the next week that can be heard all over Central Texas - it is just Karen reaching her boiling point!!!)

In my freshman yard, a group of us went to a discount store (years before K-Mart and Walmart).  I bought a copy of John Constable’s Hay Wain.  I liked the colors, the sky, and the peacefulness of the scene. (And it fit my budget - probably under a dollar)

Wikipedia says, “The Hay Wain is a painting by John Constable, completed in 1821, which depicts a rural scene on the River Stour between the English counties of Suffolk and Essex. It hangs in the National Gallery in London and is regarded as "Constable's most famous image" and one of the greatest and most popular English paintings.  (I think it went into the trash after Freshman year as I moved out of the dorm)

Why celebrities don’t have to worry about the heat? They have a lot of fans

It’s so hot it smells like bacon.

Why do you never use a cannon in hot weather? It shoots itself at 90 degrees.

What is it called when a gymnast seasons their food during hot weather? Somersault.

Years ago, I knew a retired executive who didn’t have sweatshirts - he had “perspiration jackets”!!  (Somewhat true - he coached kids league baseball and wore dress white shirts to his practices)

Boy: Would you want to be the sun in my life?
Girl: Aww… that’s so sweet, of course.
Boy: All right, then stay 93 million miles away from me.

I’m literally sweating like someone who works in a warehouse without air conditioning.  (My summer job during college was working in a warehouse without air conditioning.  We wore shorts and T-shirts every day - and still sweated!!)

Which runs faster, hot or cold?  Hot, Everyone can catch a cold.

It’s so hot in the shade I decided to stay in the sun.

What would you call South Texas in a heat wave? Corpus Crispy.

A tourist passed through a small west Texas town in the summer heat.
He wanted to be sure the water was good to drink, so he asked a local. “Oh, yes,” they assured him. The tourist then asked the locals what made them so sure. “Well,” they answered, “first we filter it, then we take out the harmful minerals, then we put it through some chemical process, and then we drink it. Only around here, people call it beer.”
