 FRIDAY MAY 7, 2021 - LOVE WINS

On Friday, I like to talk about love winning in our lives and in our society.  Hate does exist, but love also exists and is stronger.

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

And, two more scriptures

"Love covers a multitude of sins" (1Peter 4:8). "Hatred stirs up strife but love covers all sins" (Proverbs 10:12).

Last week’s Saturday story was about a man whose family was brutally killed and he wanted to hate the two thugs who did the killing, but God told him he needed to love and forgive them.  (Like the message “Father, Forgive them, they don’t know what they are doing”)

It is easy to put a label on a person (or group of people) in order to hate them.  (And, I am not perfect there - by any standard). And with that realization, I found that I had to love everybody.

Some have hated me because I am strange.  Yes, for some really strange reason, I am a transgender woman.  I have had people quote scripture to me and said that I am wrong.  

Once, I thought (and made fun of), men who loved other men (aka “gay”); or women who loved other women (lesbians).  Sometimes I think of the apostle Paul (in the Christian sense), who approved of killing Christians - until he got knocked off his horse on the road to Damascus.  Then Paul became one of the best-known Christians through history from his writings.  

Did God “knock” me off my judgmental horse?  I don’t know.  Does God have a purpose for me?  I sense that He does - (why would he knock me off my ‘horse’?)  

Yes, I am learning that LOVE WINS, and I am learning patience, and I am learning to turn the other cheek.  (And, I do apologize if I get too over-the-top at times.  I’m not trying to preach, but share the issues in my life.)

"Love covers a multitude of sins" - thank God (He/She/It/The Force)!!  I have plenty of sins and shortcomings.  I am not trying to push things into your life - you get to choose who you are and how you live.  But, for me, this seems to be where I am at.

LOVE DOES WIN!!
