ENOUGH - PART I

ENOUGH!!!

Even I have written too much about stress and the virus, unemployment and the virus, Doom and Gloom, the end of Democracy and more ‘down’ things!!!

It is HIGH TIME for fun!!! (But, of course, fun is in the ‘eye of the beholder’!!)

So, some brain teasers for today!!!  (Okay, I’ll be nice - answers at the bottom!!!)

-1 Karen’s mother had five children. The first was named Lala, the second was named Lele, the third was named Lili, the fourth was named Lolo. What was the fifth child named?.

-2 How about a grammar question: Choose the correct sentence:  “The yolk of the egg is white” or “The yolk of the egg are white”?

-3 Oh - a tough one!!!  “The more of this, the less you see!!!”   What is it?

-4  (Okay, think outside the box!!  Not even a good question!!!) There are three houses. One is red, one is blue and one is white. If the red house is to the left of the house in the middle, and the blue house is to the right of the house in the middle, where’s the White House?

-5 I tried this one on the bridge-group the other day.  Only two answered it - one correctly and one saying “I never was good at logic problems”
You have two buckets - one holds exactly 3 gallons and one holds exactly 5 gallons.  In a large vat behind you, you want exactly 7 gallons. How do you do it?

Answer:  You fill the 5-gallon bucket up and pour it into the 3-gallon bucket.  That leaves 2 gallons in the 5-gallon bucket. Dump that into the vat, then fill up the 5-gallon bucket again and dump it in - there is now a total of 7 gallons in the vat!!!

So - (this is kind of a ‘lowest common denominator”).

-5A - how would you get 9 gallons into the vat?
-5B - how would you get 10 gallons in the vat?
-5C - how would you get 11 gallons in the vat?
-5D - how would you get 17 gallons in the vat?
-5D - how would you get 4 gallons in the vat?
-5E - how would you get 1 gallon in the vat?

-6 In a one-story pink house, there was a pink person, a pink cat, a pink fish, a pink computer, a pink chair, a pink table, a pink telephone, a pink shower — everything was pink! What color were the stairs?

-7 J, F, M, A, M, J, J, A, __, __, __

-8A man left home running. He ran away and then turned left, ran the same distance and turned left again, ran the same distance and turned left again. When he got home, there were two masked men. Who were they?

ANSWERS!!! Okay, some were too easy - some were just tricky or a “play on words”!!

-1 The fifth child was “Karen” (doh!!!)

-2 Neither one - the yolk is yellow!!! (another “doh”)

-3 This one is challenging - the answer is “fog” (the more fog, the less you see!!!)

-4 Okay, a play-on-words.  The White House is in Washington D.C.!!!

-5 answers
-5a - Nine gallons?  Use the 3-gallon bucket three times!!
-5b - Ten gallons?  Use the 5-gallon bucket twice
-5c - Eleven gallons? Use the 3-gallon bucket twice (so, 6 gallons), then add one 5 gallon bucket
-5d - Seventeen gallons?  Use the 3-gallon bucket four times (12 gallons) then add one 5 gallon bucket
-5e - Four gallons?  Fill the 3-gallon bucket, pour it into the 5-gallon bucket.  Fill the 3-gallon bucket again, and pour it into the 5-gallon bucket.  You will have 1 gallon left in the three-gallon bucket - pour it into the vat, and then add one more 3-gallon bucket!!
-5f - One gallon?  Fill the 3-gallon bucket, pour it into the 5-gallon bucket.  Fill the 3-gallon bucket again and pour it into the 5-gallon bucket.  You have 1 gallon left!!

-6 There were no stairs (it was a one-story house!!!)

-7 S O N - (months of the year - the list stopped at “A” - August, so “S” - September; “O’ - October, and “N” - November.

-8 Baseball players - one running the bases and finally at home was the catcher and umpire!!

I can try some puns tomorrow!!!  No negative news (or how to deal with it for a few days!!!)

Hugs!!!

Karen
