Two Logic Problems

Let’s try two logic problems (yes, you can do this!!!)

  1. Four girls helped their grandpa collect apples. Each girl used a basket of a different color and collected a certain amount of apples. How many apples are in the green basket?
  1. Rachel used the white basket
  2. Rachel carried four more apples than the girl with the red basket
  3. Gina carried 4 more apples than Berniece
  4. Berniece used the blue basket
  5. The girl that carried 20 apples is either the girl with the red basket or the girl that used the white basket

2. A census taker approaches a woman leaning on her gate and asks about her children. She says, "I have three children and the product of their ages is seventy–two. The sum of their ages is the number on this gate." The census taker does some calculation and claims not to have enough information. The woman enters her house, but before slamming the door tells the census taker, "I have to see my eldest child who is in bed with measles." The census taker departs, satisfied.

(Hints - what are the possible factors of 72?  2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 3. Another hint - the total is either 13 or 14)
